Here’s a classic tune from 2001 that you may recognize from the advertisements. This came from the time that car companies started switching over from using classic rock in their ads to using electronic music. This one almost worked on me, as I was seriously eying an Eclipse until eventually deciding on a Focus (totally not influenced by their Wiseguys ads, I swear).

This particular example is interesting in that it’s actually a crossover; the song was used in the Eclipse advertisement, AND the Eclipse was used in the video! It’s win-win-win! Actually, there’s a cut of the video without the shots of the band in their new ride (which I assume was part of their payment), but I actually like to remember it in all it’s sold-out glory.

As for the meat of the video, it’s fabulous. Great dance moves, some fine retro stylings, and a bittersweet ending make for a simple but effective story. Keep on dancing, bro.
