We haven’t got ourselves together enough to come up with a theme for this week, so we’re going to go themeless for a bit. If anyone wants to argue that being themeless is itself a theme, I invite them to choke on a fist.

To celebrate being back (once again), here’s a classic one from Wildchild. This is actually an “uncredited” Fatboy Slim mix. It’s one of the remixes that Norman Cook did around 1996 that helped launch the career of this particular pseudonym.

Keep in perspective that the buildups, the vocals being chopped/repeated, and the sweeping filter being used were all pretty much unheard of at the time. If you think it sounds like a cliché Fatboy Slim remix, this is the one that started the cliché.

The video itself is fairly forgettable, unless you are a fan of EXTREME CLOSE UPS! WHOOOOOAAAA! WHOOOOOAAAA!
