Not exactly the same musical talent as Michael Jackson, but Brittany Murphy still gets a death-post.

Actresses who end up doing vocals for electronic musicians are a dime a dozen, but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a bad thing. For your average club-thumper, you don’t need much in the way of vocals; any vaguely-feminine voice will suffice. Add some auto-tune, some filters, and you’re golden! If you’re lucky, you can get a karaoke hit out of it since it’s so easy to sing! The fact that the vocalist is probably already suitably hot to feature in the video is just icing.

It may sound like I’m about to speak ill of the recently-deceased Brittney Murphy, but quite the opposite. I think the style is a little lacking in substance, and I absolutely despise Paul Oakenfold, but this track is just banging. It cannot be denied! Maybe you’re sick of it from back in 2006 when it was EVERY-WHERE, but that’s only because it could not be denied. And YOU sure as hell weren’t cool enough to get into abandoned parking garage party like the one featured here, so you can just jump in a lake.

But I digress. Big props to Murphy for managing to sound quite good, and her recognizable accent actually adds a little edge to the track. And bigger props to director Jake Nava, who avoided showing us Oakenfold’s ugly face in direct light. I swear, he looks like someone opened the ark of the covenant on him or something.
