The original record-playing, headbanging, carrot-smoking puppet.

This minimalistic analog techno track somehow captured the hearts of listeners back in 1999. This little guy probably had a lot to do with it. I mean, it’s a catchy song, sure. But a lot of songs are catchy. What made this one a #1 single?

After watching the video, it should be obvious. Just try not to smile and bob your head while watching Flat Eric’s office antics. I don’t know what exactly he does, but his office is huge and he can smoke all the carrots he wants, so he must be a big shot.

Flat Eric was actually a minor celebrity BEFORE this video. He was created by the director/artist for an ad campaign for Levi’s in the UK. He (and Mr. Oizo’s music) gained a bit of popularity through their odd commercials.
