It's a classic new classic from the past... from the future.

No real theme this week, so time for a little stream-of-consciousness action. We’re moving from some history in reverse to some history repeating.

We at ELVAD are huge fans of the Propellerheads. We liked them before they helped launch the iPod, before The Matrix. I was likely one of the few nerds to actually be excited for “Tomorrow Never Dies” because I knew the Props had done some soundtrack work for them.

This song was born out of that James Bond soundtrack connection. It’s a great little collaboration, and the video works well with Shirley Bassey (who is still a master of stage presence to this day). It’s also cleverly ambiguous in its time period, which only goes to reinforce the central theme of the song.
