Dancing

What would electronic music be without dancing? I postulate it would be nothing worth listening to! I need that driving beat, that killer hook, those vocals that drive me to get off the wall and on the floor. Even if I’m just relaxing in bed, or driving to the grocery store at 9am, or trying to type up a new blog post, I at least need some foot-tapping and head-bobbing to really be enjoying the music.

Perhaps it’s a bit paradoxical that I derive my maximum auditory enjoyment via the potential kinetic energy of bodies in motion, but that’s just the essence of the music. Rock music makes me rock out, electronic music makes me dance. Even if you aren’t one for rhythm, you should be dancing on the inside.

So this week I’ve got some videos that celebrate dance in all its forms (too bad I already used up my good tap dancing example).

And you glitch fans can just shut up and keep your IDM to yourselves!
