Mirwais – I Can’t Wait

After two months off, what would I say about wanting to get back to ELVAD? “I can’t wait” of course! Okay, it’s a weak connection, but it’s MY stream of consciousness after all!

Again, I’ve chosen a video would have been difficult to find a theme for. This one has some definite style though, due to the involvement of Stephane Sednaoui. He doesn’t have quite the name as Gondry, Jonze, or Cunningham, but his work was prolific enough to get him his own “Director’s Label” release in 2005. His most recognizable video was probably Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic”.

Here, we’ve got a smooth and vaguely sensual song, and the video matches the mood. I picture it as waking up after a wild night on the town, with only hazy memories of what transpired. Your body feels weird (or made up of wires I guess), and there were definitely women involved. But were you actually with one of them? Both of them? Was it even a woman? Was it even you? Or was it all just a dream?
