We begin the week with an offering from Jake Nava, who recently picked up an MTV VMA for making one of the greatest videos of ALL TIME! This song is a little less popular, though if it brings to mind images of a young Dr. Carter being stabbed, you would be in the right.

There is very clearly a coherent story somewhere in here, but it’s always been just a bit out of my grasp. I actually have an audio recording of my reactions upon first seeing this video (some ten years ago) in the form of commentary from an old radio show. I thought it was “pretty cool” back then, but I had no idea what was going on. Some things never change.

I THINK what we have here is some kind of corporate executive who is such a big jerk that even his maids and chauffeurs hate him. Many years ago he fired somebody, and made that guy’s daughter really sad. So she grew up to be a dominatrix, had an evening of sexytimes with him (maybe to break up his marriage?), and then hired the Allstars to kidnap him. Also, there was a mask involved somehow.
