If disco ever dies again, this should be its eulogy.

We’ve looked at the 90s and the 80s in our Retro Week, but what about the 70s? It’s surprisingly difficult to find a good retro 70s video, considering half the tracks we listen to in a given day are just a sped up disco sample with some cheesy vocals on top of it. You’d think more tracks would embrace their origins!

Speaking of sped up disco samples and cheesy vocals, here is some Alcazar! This is actually a video about THE MAKING OF a retro video. Which is almost too brilliantly meta for the source material. And while we’re at it, the source material is a little too good for its own good. It’s a conundrum!

Seriously, this video is just so absurd that you cannot help but love it. Ridiculous outfits, line dancing with dudes in animal heads, the pretentiousness of the band and the “director” throughout it all, it’s just spot on.

Plus, every single time there’s a closeup of the horse head, I laugh my ass off.
