The Future Sound of London was about as experimental as you can get while still maintaining a high standard of “listenability”. You could pick up any FSOL album and hear everything from breaks to ambient to techno to drum and bass. And it would all be pretty awesome.

This is my favorite FSOL track, as I’m dance-oriented at heart. The video, I’m not so sure about. I don’t even know what to call this style of video. Animated? Pop art? Epileptic drug fuel? It does fit the song pretty well, I must admit.

This sort of hard-to-categorize video, perhaps animated, perhaps computer generated, perhaps just abstract shapes and colors, the style permeated Amp. Honestly, most of them did nothing for me; the songs were boring, the videos were pointless, and it all seemed geared toward the druggie crowd (of which there were many). I’d watch them once, then fast forward (yes, we’d program a VCR to tape Amp… I wonder if those tapes still exist in a basement somewhere…) on repeated viewings.

Still, at least this video (and song) is crazy, and not just mind-numbingly boring.
