I’m not sure if I can call this one of my favorites, because it fills me with a sense of dread and horror.

Basement Jaxx was yet another UK group gaining moderate popularity in the states through the Astralwerks label at the turn of the century. They’re one of those groups who have a signature sound to them… certain effects and beat structures that uniquely identify a track as their own. In an abyss of generic-sounding dance music, this is a welcome respite.

The “Where’s Your Head At” video is easily their most famous. It tells a full story, it’s technically and visually compelling, and it actually goes along with the lyrics perfectly! The faces on the monkeys are, of course, Basement Jaxx themselves.
