Here's one way to escape from a coal mine.

Okay so I guess I do have some more tap dancing for you, with a little ballet and hip hop and lord knows what else. It’s a well-choreographed romp with an unexpected star. I do enjoy how the guy who can’t dance grabbed a tambourine to keep himself occupied.

What do you think of the ending? What really happened to Arthur and his friend? Why did one have to be left behind? Is this all a metaphor for Arthur’s death, with his afterlife filled with dancing? The lighting seems to intentionally convey a dream-like setting. Mysterious!

This song (actually the whole album of the same name) is composed entirely of samples from various types of media. I remember when people used to disrespect sampling as “cheating” or “not really music”, oh those were dark days. It’s production work like this that elevates sampling to an artform.
