DJ Shadow’s “Endtroducing” is the first record recognized to be made entirely from samples (the MPC 60 sampler shown in the video was the main equipment used). It is a masterpiece, and there’s not much that needs to be said about it. Enjoy.
The video features scenes from Sacramento (DJ Shadow being from UC Davis). If you’re a fan of the Solesides/Quannum Projects labels, you may recognize some other artists slumming around the record store.
